BareSkin SERUM foundation?

Wednesday, 21 January 2015

When bareMinerals first released their bareskin foundation it was praised everywhere and i've read tons of reviews about how amazing this product so I decided to go out and purchase it and give it a try.

- Shade I own :
  • Bare Honey 15
- Swatches:

  • Top picture : No flash
  • Bottom picture: With flash
- Colour range:
  • This is one of the foundations which have the best colour range, they range from the fairest shades to the darkest shades which I absolutely love, it is guaranteed that you will find your perfect shade. Unfortunately, here in Australia we only have 15 out of the 20 shades. I picked up the shade bare honey 15 which is slightly lighter than my skintone but I can easily get away with it as it's not too obvious.
- Coverage:
  • bareMinerals claimed that this is a light foundation and it certainly is. It's a light coverage but if you are able to build it up it can easily provide medium coverage.
- Application:
  • You have to shake the foundation well before you apply it so the ingredients can mix together.
  • I find that this is best applied with a beauty sponge as it can help reduce any of the cakey-ness which this foundation causes.
- Applicator :

  • After you shake the foundation and you try to get the foundation out of the bottle it extracts too much so you need to be really careful.

- Is it suitable for all skin types?:
  • I have combination skin so when I applied this foundation, i found that it clung to all my dry patches and the flakey parts of my face which I absolutely hated. Also on the dry parts of my face, the more foundation I layered, the more it began looking cakey.
  • On my T zone (the oily part of my face) I found that this foundation makes it look even oiler, even if I used a primer and powdered my face.
-Lasting power:
  • This lasts the whole day if you are not under the sun. It does transfer so powder your face really well,
  • It's not sweat proof, so if you sweat it begins to melt.
-Cost:
  • I bought this for A$38
-Would I repurchase:
  • No, It didn't work with my combo skin but it has worked so well for some people. Also I'm on the hunt for a new foundation, do you guys have any suggestions?
